Audient’s new interface aims to keep the quality of its predecessor whilst streamlining the features and cutting the price. Audient’s first foray into the world of computer audio interfaces was the iD22, a smart and deceptively powerful desktop device that combined dual mic preamps with balanced insert points, monitor control functionality and ADAT-format digital expansion.
Audient have announced that Windows drivers are now available for their desktop audio interface and monitor controller, the ID22. The new Windows drivers will let users enjoy multi-application support across WDM and ASIO with a low-latency mixer application. The drivers are compatible with both Windows 7 and 8, in both 32 and 64 bit versions. Audient iD22 drivers were collected from official websites of manufacturers and other trusted sources. Official driver packages will help you to restore your Audient iD22 (other devices). I've made a warranty claim, Audient as well as my retailer has been fantastic so far so no worries there. Here's what I'm worried about. I cannot CAN NOT have those connection issues. I'm pretty certain, during several days of testing and working with it, no restart was required, regardless of active sample rate. I've been using a FR Scarlett for a few years and always heard how Audient preamps and AD/DC were "better". Now that I have used the ID44 for a few days A/B tested with my 18i8 I can tell you the ID44 is definitely a step up (of course I was able to do great music with my 18i8 but the ID44 just gets you closer to a nicer/more polished sound without having to do much in post). What you've been looking for for years is a small but well-featured interface that can do what you need to be competitive, but without breaking the bank. Look at the other reviews for audient gear if you haven't dealt with it yourself. The Audient iD44 is the answer to questions you didn't even know you had. I was used to recording with other older gear, and they did the job at the time, but when I first heard the sounds quality of the ID22, it really opened my ears to a new world!
